Adventure challenges vary from race to race and participants enter as an individual competitor, pair or as a team. The challenges faced by competitors have caused multisport adventure racing to grow in popularity across the world.

Adventure racing can include mountain biking, kayaking, road cycling, trail running and orienteering. Mackay's ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge, held across an entire weekend includes all of these sporting disciplines.

The final event in the 3 part Tri-ActiV8 Kids Tri-Series was held last Sunday 11 December at the MARC (Mackay Aquatic & Recreation Centre) with 76 kids completing either a triathlon or aquathlon.

Sunday, 13 November 2022 more than 70 local kids from Mackay and beyond descended on the Mackay Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC) for the first event of the 2022 Tri-ActiV8 Kids Triathlon Tri-Series.

The Tri-ActiV8 Triathlon Tri-Series is back in 2022. The first of the 3-part series kicks off on Sunday 13 November at the MARC. It’s all about participation and having fun! Our triathlons are specifically designed for kids aged 5-12 years, and focus on finish lines over finish times.
