Join us on Saturday 7 December for Mackay’s only exclusive Kids Tri: Tri-ActiV8 Kids Triathlon. The event is open to all kids aged 5-12 years with the option of participating in either a aquathlon or a triathlon.

Moranbah’s Australia Day Celebrations will begin with a free fun triathlon starting at 6.30am (registrations 6.00am). There is prize money in each category and registration is FREE!
ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge
A beloved event for adventure enthusiasts across the country, ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge inspires and challenges athletes of all ages and abilities. The 90km scenic course in the heart of Mackay's Pioneer Valley includes a combination of MTB, kayak, trail running and road riding stages. With prize money up for grabs and camping onsite, it's time to embrace the challenge.
MINI MACH Adventure Challenge
ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge’s little sibling the MINI MACH is a great race to get out into the Pioneer Valley, cruising between cane paddocks, dipping your toes (ok maybe your body) in Cattle Creek, completing mystery challenges along the way before riding your MTB through the maze to the MINI MACH Adventure Challenge finish line, yew! All this fun will be completed in about an hour. For ages 7yrs and up, this race includes prize money and prizes and will have adults racing alongside kids (who are really really fast both on the bike and on their feet so watch out!). The laughs and smiles of all those competing around you is infectious so get amongst it.
BMA River 2 Reef Ride
The annual BMA River 2 Reef Ride raises monies for CQ Rescue and Disabled Sport & Rec Mackay. Every year over 800 riders flock to the beautiful Mackay region to get on their bikes to ride 30km, 60km or 100km.
Captain’s Crossing - The GONG
Our final event of 2024 kicks off with a thrilling challenge for all participants. Prepare to hit the ground running as you face demanding climbs and steep descents and some technical sections. Our longest course of 24km awaits!

Kids will have a great (and safe) time on their wheels lapping the Mackay Botanic Gardens with much-loved and exciting colour hits along the way. The event is part of the annual BMA River 2 Reef Ride Festival, raising monies for CQ Rescue and Sporting Wheelies & Disabled Association.

For those opting for the long course, get ready to venture into the picturesque Mia Mia State Forest, where history meets nature. As you navigate through the trail, you'll pass by a fascinating historic homestead, adding a touch of heritage to your experience.
This trail features a mix of technical sections, including an initial steep climb and a thrilling fast descent. Along the way, you'll encounter enjoyable creek crossings and varied terrain to test your navigation skills and keep the adventure alive.
Mia Mia (Captain's Crossing) is conveniently located a mere 6km away from the iconic Pinnacle Family Hotel, offering a sense of proximity and accessibility. Situated just 45 minutes from Mackay and a short drive to Eungella, it's an ideal location to get off the beaten track

THE MINI MACH IS A FUN INTRODUCTORY EVENT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY THAT INCLUDES RIDING, RUNNING AND GETTING WET. BE PREPARED FOR DIRT, WATER, STONES, GRASS AND ... POSSIBLY SOME MUD.
