The iconic ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge is shifting gears in 2025, finding a new home in the breathtaking landscapes of Finch Hatton MTB, one of Australia’s newest mountain bike destinations and nestled within one of the world’s oldest rainforests. Registrations are now open for Mackay’s only adventure race scheduled for 26 and 27 April 2025.

The Tri-ActiV8 Kids TRY-Triathlon is all about participation and having fun! Our triathlons are specifically designed for kids aged 5-12 years, and focus on finish lines over finish times. All little triathletes who participate will receive a Zooper Dooper at the finish line and loads of High-5s! Plenty of prizes up for grabs including a bike from Corry Cycles!

The Finch Hatton Flowing Trails Trail Run, held on Sunday, 4 August, marked the third event in the thrilling 4-part "Off the Beaten Track" Trail Run Series. This exceptional event, the brainchild trail run series of Mackay’s ActiV8 Adventures, saw over 120 enthusiastic trail runners seize the rare opportunity to traverse the world-class Finch Hatton MTB exclusively.

Tri-ActiV8 Takes on the Great Wall Marathon. On Saturday, 18 May 2024, 15 participants from Mackay, all representing Tri-ActiV8, embarked on the challenge of a lifetime at the Great Wall Marathon in China. Nikki Giles, Tri-ActiV8 Director, Head Coach, and participant, shared insights into their journey.

The Mackay Isaac Region is gearing up for a summer of active and exciting fun for kids aged 5 to 12 as the highly anticipated Kids Triathlon Summer Tri-Series returns to the Mackay Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC).

This three-part series, now in its sixth year, is designed to encourage young participants to get active, build confidence, and have a great time while engaging in healthy competition.

The 2023 Mackay Marina Run was a testament to the power of determination, as runners pushed their limits, celebrated personal victories, and left an indelible mark on the course.

Mackay’s stunning Pioneer Valley played host to the Corry Cycles ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge on Saturday 6 May 2023. Featuring four stages of intense adventure activity - a 40km MTB, 10km kayak, 10km trail run and 30km road cycle - the event attracted over 100 adventure-seekers from across the country, but it was the Junior Pairs category that stole the show.

Adventure challenges vary from race to race and participants enter as an individual competitor, pair or as a team. The challenges faced by competitors have caused multisport adventure racing to grow in popularity across the world.

Adventure racing can include mountain biking, kayaking, road cycling, trail running and orienteering. Mackay's ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge, held across an entire weekend includes all of these sporting disciplines.

The final event in the 3 part Tri-ActiV8 Kids Tri-Series was held last Sunday 11 December at the MARC (Mackay Aquatic & Recreation Centre) with 76 kids completing either a triathlon or aquathlon.
